You May Prosper LLC
and be in good health 3 John 1:2
Dear You May Prosper Team,
- Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share for our Holiday Make Over on Wednesday December 6th.
- Please bring a small stand up mirror, the kind our mothers used. Typically they have a magnified mirror on one side and a regular mirror on the other with two metal braces that fold out so the mirror is able to stand-alone. Any one you have will do.
- Please bring your cosmetic brushes with you.
- Since the YL mascara is sold out again this month we will not have any, so apply your mascara before you arrive but leave the rest of your face clean and ready for make up!
God willing we will be leaving on November 28th for Young Living’s Beauty School in Utah and returning December 4th or 5th. My mother has fallen several times over the past several days and I suffered two very severe gall bladder attacks, one lasting 17 hours, so we are waiting to see that all is well before we go. But even with these concerns, we are working towards leaving and looking forward to sharing with you all we will have learned on Savvy Minerals when we return.
Building Your Business
To continue my presentation from Sarah Harnisch’s event that we attended in Cape Girardeau, here is a short version of her testimony. Sarah grew up very poor. She lived in a Chicago suburb that was the trading ground of drugs for two gangs that lived on either side. Her father was an alcoholic and a convicted felon. Her mother almost singlehandedly raised her and three siblings. Often she and the children would leave because of abuse. Consequently, Sarah married at 19 with the determination to live a better life.
For the first ten years of marriage, she had a child every two years while she and her husband worked four full time minimum wage jobs and held full college course loads. Sarah’s husband worked 8 hours, slept four and then worked another 8 hours. Even with four jobs they continued to get eviction notices because they could not pay their rent. Finally they moved in with Sarah’s parents for 3 years and then to government housing. With little furniture, the children slept on mattresses on the floor.
They received government aid for everything-housing, food, medical, and heating. The church provided gas cards so they could get to work. Even with food stamps and visits to multiple food pantries, Sarah and her husband often went without so the children had something in their bellies. One time they subsisted on chocolate pudding for three days.
Then Sarah was offered a job as an anchor for a Christian Radio station making $35,000 a year. She thought she had arrived until she realized that taxes, gas, tolls, and parking in Chicago ate up half her paycheck.
Sarah and her husband followed the system for achieving the American Dream. Both of them received college degrees with honors, had white-collar jobs and worked very hard, yet they continually plunged deeper into debt. Leaving college with $70,000 in college loans, they still owed $18,000 twelve years later when their oldest son was entering college. Like most Americans, they also had a car payment, van payment, and credit card debt.
Drowning in a sea of financial obligations with no apparent way out, Sarah prayed to God that He would make her rich beyond her wildest dreams, to make more than she could spend. She wanted to be the giver and contribute as much as people had given to her. She wanted to live on 10% and give the rest away. Three years later she received her Premium Starter Kit and the rest is history, so they say.
Since she was still anchoring at 4 am each morning and then homeschooling her five children the rest of each day she could only find 8 hours a month to devote to two classes a week-one on Friday night and one on Saturday morning- and two hours of follow up calls. To her surprise, she made enough money to pay for her oils and her mortgage payment after only two months of this simple routine. In three months, Sarah made more money than what she had made the past 16 years in the broadcasting business working just a quarter of the hours.
To put that in Young Living terms, she made Executive in 8 weeks. Eighteen days later she made Silver. She ranked Gold five months later and then Platinum eight months after that. When she taught her 289th class, Sarah ranked Diamond.
According to Young Living’s Income Disclosure, the average salary for a Diamond is $38,750 a month. But as you know this does not include bonuses which are often much more than commission checks. Just recently Sarah and her husband paid off $250,000 of debt and then paid cash for a large home. The bank was so astonished by Sarah’s Cinderella story they asked her how she did it.
Sarah told them that all it takes is you, my script, and a Premium Starter Kit. It is better than anything you have ever done. There is no income ceiling. And the timing has never been better. People are reading labels and paying attention to what they eat. You are your own boss and set your own hours. And you can take off and get paid. But best of all is the legacy income you will receive for your children. When you reach silver and are making 3,000 a month, make a will and fill out Young Living’s forms, to secure a residual income for your children’s lifetime.
The bank employees were so impressed; they all purchased Starter kits from Sarah,
Sarah is passionate about helping people avoid survival mode and become financially free so they have the time, wealth, and tools to invest in other’s lives.
Instead of blaming God, parents, spouse, boss, or her unfortunate circumstances for her poverty, Sarah worked hard, praised God for everything He provided, and prayed for more. For As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7
Sarah was not passive in her faith but actively pursued God’s blessings. As a matter of fact, she went on to tell us that the issue is not dreaming big enough and being specific enough in our prayers.
As sons and daughters, and vice regents, of our Father, Creator and Ruler of the universe, we should possess a magnificent vision of all we wish to accomplish for His glory-which most certainly includes providing for our families first and foremost. Life is short! Accountable to God for our time, we must always begin with the end in view and take the necessary steps to keep on track as we run the race with endurance.
Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin, which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1

Skin Highly Permeable
Seldom heard of just decades ago, cancer has become the number two cause of death in America, taking nearly 2,000 lives a day. This astounding increase has prompted many of us to think about our family’s health. Unfortunately though, when considering how to improve well-being most of us focus solely on diet and exercise without ever considering chemical exposure.
Even when we see those two words, our minds typically go to industrial stacks spewing out billows of smoke or crop dusters spraying acres of farmland with powdered insecticides. Quickly dismissed as an occupational and environmental hazard, we fail to understand the seriousness of the toxins in the personal care products we use.
While nutrition is crucial for optimal health, what touches our skin should concern us more than what we ingest because what we ingest at least goes through a filter before entering the bloodstream. Enzymes in the saliva and stomach break down what we swallow before it passes to the intestines into the blood stream and to our organs. Our skin, on the other hand, has no such filter. In essence, without filtering of any kind, whatever we place on our skin is absorbed directly into the bloodstream and then impacts our organs.
A study published in the American Journal of Public Health disclosed that 64% of the chemicals that come into contact with skin are absorbed directly into the body. The face is several times more permeable than broad body surfaces. The absorption rate for underarms is 100%. Another study showed 100% absorption of the ingredients in fragrances, which we know to be very toxic, making skin, a carrier of toxins rather than a barrier. I certainly did not realize that our skin was so highly permeable, did you?
Although we personally don’t believe that any amount of toxic chemicals is safe to apply, ingest, or breathe, many are fully approved as safe in small quantities. But small doses become quite large over time. And when we realize that the average woman applies over 300 chemicals to her body daily, 80% before breakfast, the toxin overload on organs and body systems becomes huge.
But don’t be deceived. Even when a product boasts that it is natural or organic, we cannot believe it because although the product may contain one or more natural or organic ingredients, it most likely contains other toxic chemicals as well. For we know The Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976 grandfathered in an estimate 65,000-100,000 chemicals currently on the market today allowing companies to keep their ingredient lists a secret. T he Chemical Free Home by Melissa Poepping
Companies certainly desire to take advantage of the vast increase in demand for healthier products, but since they don’t expect us to investigate each ingredient, toxins go undetected by the vast majority of Americans.
Knowing that the majority of conventional body care products contain a mixture of irritants, allergens, and carcinogenic chemicals, along with the fact that what we use on our skin ends up inside our bodies, we understand why it is important for us to read labels and investigate the risks of each ingredient listed on our personal care products.
This is especially important when it comes to exposing our babies and children’s developing organs to these products, as they are particularly sensitive to chemicals.
Think of it this way. If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your body or on your family’s bodies.
This is why products created from plants’ essential oils are ideal.
There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise. Proverbs 21:20
Harmful Toxins in Skin Care Products
Our largest organ, skin water proofs our body, regulates our body’s temperature, shields us from ultraviolet rays, blocks and kills harmful bacteria, serves as a shock absorber for our internal organs, communicates with our brain, and converts the sun’s rays into vitamin D assisting our absorption of calcium.
Just one inch of this amazing organ contains approximately 65 hairs, 9,500,000 cells, 19 yards of blood vessels, 78 yards of nerves, 78 sensory apparatuses for heat, 13 sensory apparatuses for cold, 19,500 sensory cells at the end of the nerve fibers, 160-165 pressure apparatuses for perception of tactile stimuli, 1300 nerve endings to record pain, 100 sebaceous glands and 650 sweat glands.
As we can see, there is a lot to take care of here. Yet the products we use to keep this marvelous organ healthy, more often than not, damage it. And as if damaging the very organ that reflects our health is not enough, toxins from our beauty products damage our internal organs and body systems as well.
After water, the first ingredient in my family’s former body lotion is petrolatum, an ingredient that may cause premature aging. But this is not the worst of it. Though the company conveys a commitment to healthy skin, which they believe begins with deep healing moisture that absorbs deeply into the skin to heal from within, when I investigated further I was horrified at how this product was impacting our internal health.
For instance, the European Union considers petrolatum a carcinogenic and banned its use in cosmetics. There is evidence that it causes breast cancer and has been found in breast tumors. And if this does not get the job done in increasing our chances of becoming cancer victims, we can double our chances with the absorption of the other ingredients contained in this product.
Without naming each individual ingredient, allow me to list the dangers I discovered for each of the chemicals in this product: interferes with body’s moisturizing mechanism; leads to dry skin and chapping; kills skin cells; promotes sun damage; causes premature aging; can cause allergies and dermatitis; reproductive, developmental, and neurological toxic; can cause tumors; carcinogenic; eye problems; respiratory and immune system damage; impair kidney function; fatigue; headaches; forgetfulness; speech disturbances; memory loss; dementia; Alzheimer’s; extreme nervousness; seizures; linked to cancer; organ system toxicity; immune system toxicity; linked to breast tumors; decreases male fertility; disrupts reproductive hormones; affects endocrine system; adversely affects becoming pregnant and maintaining pregnancy; damages natural skin pigment; damages eye tissue; causes asthma attacks; skin rashes; kidney damage; cramps; nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; headaches; dizziness; bloating; headaches; skin irritation; impairs digestive system; intestinal problems; cancer; irritates respiratory system; coughing; dizziness; headache; drowsiness; sore throat; headaches; dizziness; rashes; skin irritation; hyperactivity; depression; endocrine disruptor; skin irritation; respiratory problems; ear, nose and throat problems; linked to leukemia; ear infections; chronic fatigue; depression; joint pain; and insomnia.
Wow! I was stunned! The very product we were using for maintaining the health of our skin was actually filled with chemicals that had the potential to adversely affect most everything in our bodies. Yet before I continue, let me tell you that it was Jon that first looked up some of the ingredients and suggested that we discontinue using this lotion. He said it could cause Alzheimer’s, something all of us want to avoid after taking care of my mother who has had it for many years. I continued the investigation and found that it could cause far more than that debilitating disease.
Thankful for Young Living’s Healthy Skin Products
Again, this is why we are all so very thankful for Young Living and their commitment to produce the purest essential therapeutic oils and oil based products. Thankfully we had several Young Living lotions to choose from after pitching the toxic one we had been using for years.
Although we intend to use each one, we first chose Young Living’s Lavender Hand and Body Lotion. When I considered the vast difference of ingredients in the Young Living lotion compared to the toxic chemicals in our prior lotion, I gave thanks to God for showing our family the way to Young Living.
Also touted for moisturizing and protecting skin, our new lotion contains Sandalwood, Barley, Lavender, Wolfberry, Myrrh, Lemon, Rosemary, Kelp, Algae, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Bees Wax-all wonderful beneficial ingredients that keep our skin looking lovely while also working with our organs and body systems to keep us healthy. Now that is a blessing!
Then God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you.’ Genesis 1:29 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of many: that he may bring forth food out of the earth. Psalm 104:14 Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing. Ezekiel 47:12
God infused plants with powerful essential oils that have the ability to instantly penetrate the skin and quickly cross through tissues, cell walls, and the brain barrier to reach all areas of the body within minutes. This includes our brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, reproductive organs, and muscles, literally everything in our bodies. Our skin was not created to absorb toxic chemicals. It was created to absorb essential oils that God provided to maintain the health of our fearfully and wonderfully created bodies.
