and be in good health 3 John 1:2
Dear You May Prosper Team,
As the New Year typically marks the beginning of new resolutions, our family thought it would be beneficial if we all began praying together for our team. This month we wanted everyone to focus on praising God daily for bringing us to Young Living for better health, abundance, and generational wealth. But before we continue with our thoughts and prayers, we wanted to begin with a prayer from our leader, Renee Yeo and her family.
We have always been so blessed by Renee and her family-by their encouragement and prayers for our family. And since God sent Renee to be our encourager, to bring us to this place of hope and abundance, and since she has always offered up such beautiful sacred prayers for our well-being, we thought it fitting to have Renee and her family join us in praying for our team-both those that have forged the path and those who will follow. Actually, it is more accurate to state that we join Renee and her family in praying for our team because they have been praying for all of us for a long time.
Thank you, Ron, Renee, Kelcie, Kayla, and Parker, for your faithful prayers. We deeply appreciate each of you. We are continually praising God for bringing you into our lives!
May You Prosper
Wow, it is hard to believe we have crossed over to another New Year! I don’t know about you, but for our family, this time of year is so very sacred. It is the time of year that we look with eager anticipation for what the Lord has for us in the months ahead. Although we may plan, we also realize that “the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord” and we seek to delight the Lord in bringing Him all our desires, needs and vision. We desire that we would not “lean to our own understanding” but we make a conscious effort to submit these things to Him so that “He may make our paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
With this as our family’s commitment to the days ahead, we also come with such gratitude before the Throneroom of His Grace and declare His Goodness for all that He has done in the year that has now been sanctioned to history. We never want to forget all the things He has done for us and on the top of the list of our journal of gratitude are each of you!
For the past few years, we have had such the blessed honor to know the Summers family. We have prayed for them and for the ministry, but our hearts were always filled with a desire to see them prosper. Many times our prayers for them would be that their barns would be filled to overflowing (and this is before we even knew they had a farm)!
The Lord’s timing is perfect and when we saw that the Lord was giving His blessing upon them with Young Living, we rejoiced! We knew that the Lord had prepared them for this, that He was answering their prayers in this way and to see it all come to fruition was such an encouragement to us as we knew that the Lord had mighty plans for them. These plans included this incredible team that the Lord Himself is forming. It includes each of you. And, we stand in awe of His mercy and grace that we should be so honored to be a part of all that the Lord is doing in your midst.
So, it is our prayer that this year to come be filled with His grace, His presence and His call upon you and your families. We do not take lightly the importance of His calling upon us as your leaders to first and foremost lift you up in prayer. We do this with humbled expectation that the Lord “who began a good work in you, will complete it” Phil. 1:6.
With this said, our prayer for you is as Paul prayed for the Ephesians, chapter 3 verses 14-21:
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom EVERY FAMILY in heaven and earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith – that you being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask of think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout ALL GENERATIONS, forever and ever. Amen”
Believing with you all that 2018 will be a year of abundance in every way and that Christ will indeed dwell in us deeply as we take the call that He has given to us!
It’s more than we can think or imagine!
Praise be to God!
The Yeo Family
Since we deeply appreciate A. W. Pink’s depth of wisdom, we thought it prudent to use his exposition on the Lord’s Prayer to lead us in this endeavor.
This is the first part of an article I wrote many years ago for our homeschooling newsletter. We believe this is a good place for us to start our prayers for this New Year. Each month I will be sharing another part of the article, along with practical direction for our prayers.
The Lord’s Prayer by A. W. Pink
Pink parallels the Lord’s Prayer with the Ten Commandments in that each are divided into such a way that we honor God first. The first three petitions of the Lord’s Prayer relate to God, while the last four concern our needs just as the first five Commandments “teach us our duty towards God, while the last five teach us our duty toward neighbors.”
How often I had begun my prayers with my needs instead of taking time to praise God, to glorify His name! Pink says that “our primary duty in prayer is to disregard ourselves and to give God the preeminence in our thoughts, desires, and supplications…we cannot pray aright unless the glory of God be dominant in our desires.”
Thus, the petition “Hallowed be Thy name” should cause us to set our minds in order that our purpose on earth is to glorify Him in all that we do, so that we should humble ourselves before the Almighty Holy God that He might be honored and adored. The name Christian imposes great responsibility, that all that we do honor our heavenly Father and that we do not blaspheme His name by lawless acts of misconduct. Whatever we do, we always do it for the glory of God.
Hannah’s Prayer of Thanksgiving
Prior to beginning our Young Living businesses, each of us were diligently pursuing healthier lifestyles. Some of us were already using Young Living oils, others of us did not know about them yet. But no matter where we all began, each of us have learned a lot about the tremendous benefits of using Young Living’s oils, and more importantly, about God’s immense love for us in providing the oils for our health.
But who would have thought that God would answer our prayers for financial assistance through our pursuit for better health? And not just meet our prayerful expectations but provide a way to secure immeasurably more than all we asked or thought!
Young Living’s business model for unlimited wealth provides real hope for our future, which in turn should cause each of us to offer immeasurable prayers of thanksgiving to our Father who does infinitely more than we ask according to His power that is at work within us.
Weeping bitterly as she prayed to the Lord for a son, Hannah made a vow, saying, ‘Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life.’
When God granted her what she had asked of him, she offered up this prayer of thanksgiving.
My heart exults in the LORD; my horn is exalted in the LORD, my mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation. There is no one holy like the LORD, indeed, there is no one besides You, nor is there any rock like our God. Boast no more so very proudly, do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and with Him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty are shattered, but the feeble gird on strength. Those who were full hire themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry cease to hunger. Even the barren gives birth to seven, but she who has many children languishes. The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up. The LORD makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts. He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with nobles, and inherit a seat of honor; for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and He set the world on them. He keeps the feet of His godly ones, but the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; for not by might shall a man prevail. Those who contend with the LORD will be shattered; against them He will thunder in the heavens, the LORD will judge the ends of the earth; and He will give strength to His king, and will exalt the horn of His anointed.
There are many important points in this prayer, but we want to specifically emphasize that God is the one who kills and makes alive; brings down and raises up; makes poor and rich; brings low, and exalts. He is the one who keeps the feet of His godly ones, for not by might shall a man prevail. It is God who exalts the horn of His anointed.
In this let us realize, that no matter how hard we work in this business, no matter how much money we make, it is the Sovereign Lord who raises up and exalts. And it is He who deserves all the recognition, acclaim, and glory. So, let us remember to continually pay the homage (reverence, duty, honor, and praise) due Him, for Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever!
Using the Increase for His Glory According to His Word
And in this let us always remember to use the income He Provides for His glory, according to His Word, to plant vineyards, build houses, have children, provide abundantly for our children and our parents, provide a goodly inheritance for our children, tithe to the Church, help the poor, make the most of our time in being productive in other businesses and ministries, while enjoying the fruit of our labors.
God says of His righteous ones in Psalm 1:1-3 “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law, he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.”
God’s wisest man, Solomon, conveys to us what is good and fitting “to eat, to drink and enjoy oneself in all one’s labor in which he toils under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him; for this is his reward. Furthermore, as for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also empowered him to eat from them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.” Ecclesiastes 5: 18,19
“For when you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, you will be happy and it will be well with you.” Psalm 128:2
